Verrex InfoComm18 Best of ShowSimilar to year’s past, our InfoComm show attendees had a difficult time narrowing our finds down to simply a Top 10. This year was no exception and as you’ll see with our 2018 list, the 10 has now become a Best of Show. A few key takeaways you’ll see represented: more solutions dedicated to the growing huddle room and smaller spaces market, a keen focus on exceptional audio AND video experiences (i.e., why the Plantronics’ Polycom acquisition makes sense), software-based solutions, and solutions to help us pull data that we can analysis on system and room usage.

AMX DCE-1 In-Line Controller (2018 Launch)
From Verrex Director of Global Engineering Services, Ben Dandola-Grubb: “This is a small problem solver at a good price point. Basic function is an HDMI audio de-embedder, HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2, 4k60 4:4:4 capable. Other useful features include EDID management and signal-based display control (CEC, RS232, IR). This could be a small room controller that turns on a display or projector and lowers a projection screen automatically when it senses a laptop input.”

Avocor F50 86” Interactive Touch Screen (2018 Launch)
The largest size in Avocor’s new F Series interactive displays is the impressive 86” (along with 75” and 65”). Equally impressive is the touch screen’s open collaboration: pairs with current UC hardware or software solutions including Zoom, Skype for Business, Logitech, Huddly, and others, has a dedicated input for third-party wireless connectivity boxes like Barco ClickShare or WePresent, and includes a built-in Windows swipe bar (optimized for Windows 10) for a tablet-like experience on a large format display.

Biamp Tesira AMP-450P Amplifier (2018 Launch)
From Verrex Director of Global Engineering Services, Ben Dandola-Grubb: “More and more manufacturers are offering Dante-enabled audio products, which are very useful. However, if you design as much of your system with Biamp equipment, AVB is much simpler than Dante. Biamp offers what’s effectively a ‘no user management needed’ software platform that connects and addresses all Biamp AVB devices with much less effort than Dante devices. The AMP-450P is a POE+ powered 4-channel amplifier that offers 30W per channel at 8ohm. This is more than enough power for all conference room applications.”
